Where Books Meet Communities: The Hubhawks Vision for Reading

Over the past few days, Hubhawks organised city wide book fairs and welcomed thousands of readers through its doors. Some came looking for a specific title; others arrived with no plan at all, only to leave carrying stories they never expected to find. Children discovered books they couldn’t put down, parents introduced their little ones to the joy of choosing a book, and lifelong readers spent hours wandering through shelves instead of screens.

That is exactly the experience we hoped to create.

From the very beginning, Hubhawks set out to create more than just book fairs. We wanted to create an authentic reading experience, one that celebrates the joy of discovering stories, meeting fellow readers, and bringing books closer to every city. Every book at our fair is an original copy. Behind every original book is an author who spent years writing it, an editor who refined it, designers who shaped it, printers who produced it, publishers who believed in it, and countless others who brought that story into the world. Supporting original books means supporting the future of publishing itself.

One of the experiences we’re most proud of with our formats of ‘A Bag of Tales’ & ‘Books by Daryaganj- Book Box Challenge’ is that we were able to make discovering  and purchasing books exciting again.

Instead of calculating every individual title, readers are encouraged to browse, explore, take chances on unfamiliar authors, and fill their bags with stories that speak to them. More often than not, readers take home books worth far more than the value of the bag itself. The concept is simple: if it fits in your bag, it’s yours to keep.

The real value goes beyond the savings. Every book finds a reader who will read it, revisit it, recommend it, or gift it. Because our mission has always been about more than organising a book fair—it’s about making reading more accessible and bringing more books into more hands and homes.

We want to plant the seed of reading in new minds. We want children to remember the excitement of picking their own book instead of another screen. We want young adults to discover authors they never knew existed. We want families to spend a day together surrounded by stories. We want to remind book lovers that the joy of physically walking through rows of books shouldn’t be limited to one annual national or international book fair. Every city deserves moments like these. Every reader deserves the chance to discover books close to home.

The feeling of walking into a hall full of books. The confidence of knowing every copy is authentic. The satisfaction of supporting the creators behind every story. The excitement of leaving with a bag full of books and a heart full of new adventures.

To everyone who has walked through our doors, thank you for becoming a part of this journey. Every conversation, every recommendation shared between strangers, every child who picked up their first book, and every reader who left with a tote full of stories remind us why we started.

If you haven’t visited us yet, we’d love to welcome you. That is the future Hubhawks hopes to build, one authentic book, one curious reader, and one city at a time.
